2002 Guangdong Winter Camp and China Tour
Over the recent months, the New Zealand Chinese Association had been busy planning the annual Guangdong Winter Camp and China tour for young NZCA members aged from 18 to 26 years old. This event takes place over the period from 27th November to the 24th December 2002.
This year, the China tour part of the event will precede the Winter Camp part to avoid a clash with the 3rd International Guangdong Friendship Conference to be held in Gaungzhou in early December 2002. This change in programme should better suit the participants as they will visit the colder parts of China in a warmer time of the year.
Altogether, 13 youths from all over the country are participating in this year’s event. Janet Joe, a very experienced China travel consultant, is again managing the Winter Camp youth group. The names and region the participants are as follows:
Eewai Chen Christchurch
Gavin Fong Auckland
Estella Hung Hamilton
Jonathan Leung Auckland
Jeremy Lowe Pukekohe
Jason Pat Christchurch
Hayden So Auckland
Melanie Tam Auckland
Vanessa Wong Auckland
Gregory Wong Auckland
Jucinda Wong Christchurch
Annika Young Napier
John Young Auckland
Janet Joe and the youth group left from Auckland on Wednesday 27 November. Auckland Branch committee members and parents farewelled this group at the airport. Each participant including the tour manager has been issued with a set of specially designed tee and sweat shirts for the event.
The NZCA Executives wishes everyone in the group an enjoyable and memorable trip and a safe return.
